One love for English is dedicated because of my love to English.
English is one of my favorite subjects since elementary school until now. Some events made me love English so much. They changed my life so that I am an English Department student of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Unlam now.
That is a choice that I had never thought before.
One ridiculous event at fifth grade made me tried and wanted to know more about English. On that day, I was a new student in the school (SDN BBK 9). The first time I knew those words in English, the first time I some sentence in English. I tried to answer all items; there were four multiple choices items about singular and plural form. The next week the test was divided and when I got my paper I saw my scores. I got 25 in my exam for the first time in my life.
That was my first point when I stated to myself that I had to study hard to increase my scores. I proofed it in the final exam that I could be the best in there. Since that time, I always try to love English and get score in every change.
My experience at first grade in junior high school was scary moment. My English teacher was so discipline. Most students in class scared with her. The turning point was when she hit my friend with long ruler because he couldn’t say “carrot” in the right pronunciation. From that accident, I realized that English is not only about good grammar in answering question but also in speaking time when we want to communicate with others. Because of those interests of English, so I really wanted to study English.
At senior high school I was in Ilmu Alam class, we have more times to study science than language, but English had same portion as the subjects of science. My teacher could be our facilitator in learning English. They were good in teaching English, but I didn’t know why some of students didn’t like English. They said that English was difficult. I tried to learn English better than before.
And when I graduated from senior high school, my mother asked me to choose faculty of teacher training and education. I chose English department because I liked English even I had never had a dream to be a teacher.
